Oakley Sports vs Gloucester Arms (5th Dec)

We went away to play our 6th match of the season at the Gloucester Arms in Bedford. After arriving to a interesting atmosphere at the venue, returning captain Greg who was making a fleeting visit from a night shift kicked the match off and narrowly lost the opening frame on the black.

The team rallied round and at 3-2, the decision was made to move venues as the atmosphere in the pub was reaching boiling point. The game was relocated to the Turnpike, where after the singles, Oakley were winning 4-2 with just the 3 doubles to play, Oakley went on to win the match 6-3.

This was our second win of the season and a great result given the circumstances. Now we have the winter break and return to the fixtures on Monday 9th Jan 2012.
